The week ahead 2nd March 2025
Dear Glebe Families,
Welcome to March and welcome to Spring! I hope you are making the most of the sunnier, drier weather!
Our assembly theme last week was all about aspirations. We shared with children the importance of looking up to someone who they aspire to be like. They had ideas of famous people, adults in their lives and family members. It would be interesting to carry on the discussion with them at home on who they aspire to be like and the steps, starting now, to get there #highexpectations
For those now in Ramadan, we wish you a blessed Ramadan.
FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
1. WORLD BOOK DAY THURSDAY 6TH MARCH
This week hosts World Book Day on THURSDAY! Back on 14th February we sent you a letter as you all had some homework to help us all, as a community, instil a love of reading in our children. I have attached it again. If you need help with a World Book Day outfit, let Miss Esmond know and we can help – just email office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk I LOVE World Book Day and will be dusting off one of my favourite, inspiring book characters to dress up as!
2. FEBRUARY GLEBE GAZETTE
Our February Monthly round up was sent last week: www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/News/Glebe-Gazette
Do take time to look it through, discuss it with your child, but also spread the word that Glebe is doing lots to ensure our children have the best primary school experience.
If you know of anyone looking for a Nursery or Reception place for September for their child, or are looking to join us in-year, ask them to email office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk where our team will happily help them on how to apply.
3. HOLI FRIDAY 14TH MARCH
We also sent out our plans to celebrate HOLI on Friday 14th March!
We are looking to do these every two years as part of a cycle of celebrating festivals from different religions. The event will be something your child will never forget and we are so excited that so many parents are going to join in with us too! Fingers crossed the weather is kind to us and the event can go ahead!
Any questions about this, catch us on the school gates or email office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk

LUCY "The Space” Family Support Idea for the Week:
We all have difficult times when we know we are messing up. Sometimes, we get triggered, and we forget to see things from our child's perspective. So, we lose it, react to their behaviours and can later be left filled with remorse. It is helpful to remind ourselves that most things can be repaired.
How can parents help?
Parenting is hard and we are only human- which means that your child doesn't need you to be perfect. In fact, what they need from you is the space to be imperfect too, and to be loved and accepted for who they are. Luckily, we can model how to repair: "I'm so sorry I yelled at you... As long as our ruptures are followed by reconnection and outweighed by positive moments, they become learning opportunities for our children.
On the horizon...
Science Week 10th-13th March
Holi Festival Celebration Friday 14th March
Easter Bonnet Parade Friday 4th April
HOME/SCHOOL Communication reminders:
1. Learning/behaviour queries to class teachers
2. Email office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk if anything needs more support, and they will direct it to the right person
3. Please do not approach each other or children if there is a concern – speak to Glebe staff first
Remember everything on our website can be translated into different languages: www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
