The week ahead 20th July 2025

Dear Glebe Families,

Our last Sunday PING of the academic year!

I want to celebrate the amazing performance of The Wizard of Oz by our Y6s, our beautiful Nursery graduation and also thank you for the amazing feedback at parent’s evening and also on your written feedback sheets.  Thank you!

Tomorrow, Reception to Y6 Children will have lunch with their teachers tomorrow as part of the moving on theme.  It is a chance to enjoy lunch, share memories and prepare for that change at the end of this year.  It is free (you don't need to do anything):

Also, thank you for always taking the time to read this Sunday PING each week, sharing information with other parents and for being an active and engaged Glebe parent/carer. We really have appreciated your support and your feedback throughout the year – our Sunday PING is here to stay and will resume in September!

FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:

1. UNIFORM FROM SEPTEMBER

We have high expectations for every Glebe child to be wearing the correct uniform from September.  It is full school uniform every day, unless it is a PE day when they can wear their school PE Kit.  If they have a sports club after school, they will need to bring their PE Kit to school to get changed.  Here is a reminder (new logo only for uniform and book bags please):

Plain white polo shirts for Nursery to Y4.  Shirt and tie for Y5 and Y6.

ONLY Y6 need backpacks – everyone else a book bag as we do not have space to store back packs.   https://www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/Parents/School-Uniform

2. END OF TERM AND START OF TERM

School ends on TUESDAY!  2pm for Reception, Y1 and Y2 and 2.05pm for Y3-Y6.  If your child is attending the JAG after-school club, it will start from then.

LUCY "The Space” Family Support Idea for the Week:

Holiday Survival Guide

Breaks from school can actually feel quite stressful for children, as their regular schedules and routines are disrupted. As we head into the summer holiday, I thought it would be helpful to share these tips once again, to help you minimise the tears and maximise the joy at home.

How can parents help?

As always with parenting, it is most important to look after yourself first. Make sure your own cup is full so you can stay calm. You can also let them know in advance what they will be doing over the holiday and remind them again every morning the plans for that day. Many children will also do better if you keep to some routine and schedule every day, to offer them some predictability. If you can, always include some outdoor or physical activity every day as it helps them to stay regulated. Finally, remember to do less and connect more!
