The Week Ahead 8th June 2025

Dear Glebe Families,

We launched our first Glebe Gossip Poll last week on PING – did you participate? A quick, fun way to engage with us at Glebe! Have a look at the results at the end of this Sunday PING!

I also want to say a public thank you to our Rise and Shine Breakfast team!  They are quite a squad and rally together brilliantly to give our Glebe children a fab (and free) start to the day!  We have a special week ahead – see below for details!  If you want to know more, Miss Esmond is always in the playground each day or chat to me, Ms St Cyr, Mrs Ozdemir or Mrs Patel on the gates!

FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:

1. FREE BREAKFAST CLUB FOR RECEPTION TO Y6 and Y1-Y5 TEST WEEK

We are offering a HOT breakfast on Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week as well as our usual cereal/toast offering EVERY DAY!  Plus next week only, Mr Banks is doing house team sport competitions before school in his fitness sessions for children, so they can earn extra points for their house team ahead of Fun and Fitness week in July!  Join us Monday, 8.05am!

2. SUMMER FESTIVAL PREPARATIONS:
DONATE COSTUMES TOO SMALL FOR YOUR SMALL PERSON!

We would love to resell costumes and dressing up outfits that are too small for your child, at the summer fair.  Things like super hero outfits or world book day outfits or any costumes in good condition which your child has outgrown.  Drop them to the office and we will happily take them of your hands!

SUMMER FESTIVAL – WE NEED RAFFLE DONATIONS!

We are excited that our summer festival plans are developing well!  We do need more amazing raffle prizes like we had at Christmas – remember the huge TV and amazing experience vouchers?  CAN YOU HELP US AGAIN?   Tickets will be sold in advance of the fair this time, so even if you can’t attend, you could still win!  But we need your donations.  Please email Metul: mpatel239.310@lgflmail.org or Whatsapp Bhavnita 079304 03814

3. THANK A TEACHER DAY - WEDNESDAY 18TH JUNE

The UK-wide celebration of all teaching and support staff is back. National Thank a Teacher Day will be celebrated on Wednesday 18th June!  This is a national celebration of all the amazing teaching and support staff in our schools. They deserve the spotlight for everything they do to keep things running smoothly, and you can spotlight a GLEBE MEMBER OF STAFF!

Want to make their day? If you know a special teacher, dedicated support staff member or even a whole school team, let them know how grateful you are by sending a free e-card: https://thankateacher.co.uk/thank-a-teacher/thank-a-teacher-form/ It would take you two minutes and could make a huge difference!
