The Week Ahead 1st December 2024
Dear Glebe Families,
I am so, so proud of our Glebe community! Your generosity with donations last Friday will really help us offer an even better Christmas Fair this year. Remember the date: WEDNESDAY, 11TH DECEMBER (and there is a final call for volunteers!). Thanks again to our PTFA for coordinating it.
Then, after school last Friday, our “staff Christmas Elves” stayed to sprinkle some Christmas magic throughout the school to bring a smile to your children’s faces tomorrow! I will share pictures on Monday on our Instagram @gloriousglebe!
This is a great example of everyone making a positive difference together for our Glebe children.
FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
1. GLEBE GAZETTE
Our monthly round-up for November will be coming to you today, so have a look at it. It is a great opportunity to look at it with your child and talk about lots of things happening at Glebe! If you have an idea for something else we could include or how to improve it, let any leader know on the gates when you see them, or email office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk
2. MEETING SANTA!
Santa will be with us at the Christmas Fair on 11th December! However, to reduce queues at the fair after school, we will take our Nursery, Reception, and Year 1 to visit him in his magical grotto during the school day. We will ask you to send your child in with a £1 donation on the day, which will help them meet Santa and receive a little treat from him.
3. A CALL TO OUR ROMANIAN COMMUNITY!
We would love to have a Romanian Christmas table at the Christmas fair, selling Romanian foods and gifts, but we need your help to make this happen! If you can support us, let me or one of our school leaders know, or email office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk

LUCY "The Space” Family Support Idea for the Week:
Choose your battles
We all resist feeling controlled by someone, and kids are no different. The more they feel "ordered around" the more they rebel. That's a good thing! Teaching a child to always be obedient means you'll always have to be there to give orders. Instead, teaching a child self-discipline raises a child who can think for themselves. Choose your battles. Make sure your child knows you're on their side and that they have some choices. When you feel you are entering a power struggle, offer them two choices that you feel OK with. This will allow them to feel they have some control, while you also continue to hold your boundaries.
On the horizon...
