The Week Ahead 19th May 2024

Dear Glebe Families,

I hope you have had a great weekend. Our Y6s performed the best they could last week in SATS, and now we await the results later in July. Thanks for your support and well done to our Y6 children and our staff, we are proud of you #goglebe.

We are gearing up for a busy last week of this half term. Lots going on for our children so please take note of the reminders below!

FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
1. Calendar updates sent via School Ping in the last week, and reminders for this week:
• YEAR 6 BOOSTER SESSIONS have now stopped.
• MONDAY the Y3 Music Performance is at 9.00am, not in the afternoon;
• TUESDAY we welcome Y4 parents/carers at 9am to see their children’s music concert
• WEDNESDAY our Y6s go off to the West End to see WICKED the Musical
• THURSDAY at 2.45pm is a parent/carer meeting with MAGNA to answer any questions and help you get set up on their website https://magna.childcare-online-booking.co.uk/ ;
• THURSDAY Y2A and Y2G go to Headstone Manor for their trip
• FRIDAY Y2D go to Headstone Manor for their trip

2. The deadline to sign up for MUSIC TUITION for your child for the 2024-25 academic year is on WEDNESDAY – check your School Ping for the form. This applies to our current Y2-Y5 children. Any queries, email the office team at office@glebe.harrow.sch.uk

3. As a follow-up to last week, we have discussed a change to end-of-day pick-up procedures with staff. We are going to rehearse the new plan with our children and staff this week to check it works for them. We will share it with you in next week’s update so you know the plan from Monday 3rd June when we return from half term break.

4. As part of developing our safeguarding culture, next week your child may start discussing their “FIVE SAFE ADULTS” with you. Ms St Cyr is launching this in assembly tomorrow and we will share more next week. When you pick up your child tomorrow, ask them about it!

5. London, and Harrow in particular, is seeing a rise in the number of cases of children, and adults, getting measles. We ask all adults to consider receiving the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccination for themselves and their children if they have not had the vaccination yet or the double dose. Please check your child's RED book or vaccination record for the MMR status for two dates. If dates are not found please complete the e-consent form on the following link: https://clchschoolimmunisations.co.uk/Forms/MMR The GLEBE school code is CL102224. More information is also available on the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/measles/

On the horizon... * five more early wake-ups and then it is half term from 3.30pm on FRIDAY 24TH MAY to 8.30am on MONDAY 3RD JUNE!

Week ahead weather:
It is warm and dry until the end of Tuesday. From Wednesday expect rainy showers each day.

As always, if you have any concerns or queries, use our communication guide so we can respond as soon as possible to: https://www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/Parents/Communication/
