The Week Ahead 16th November 2025
Dear Glebe Families,
Thank you again for your generosity with BBC Children In Need last Friday. It was a fun day with your children and our staff team, and more importantly, we all made a positive difference together!
Watch the staff video here: https://www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/Whole-School-Events-2526/
And talking of making a positive difference, well done to Nathalie in Y6 – a local resident wrote to me to express his immense gratitude to Nathalie and her parents. He had accidentally dropped his wallet, which was full of cash, ID and credit cards. Nathalie found the wallet on her way home, brought it home, and gave it to her parents, who returned it to its owner and alleviated his worst fears that it would fall into the wrong hands. Incredible integrity -we are very proud of you Nathalie!
Finally, our Y6 Prefects led Anti-Bullying week last week with a strong assembly on what it is, why it is wrong, and everyone's responsibility to stamp it out - they were brilliant!

FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
1. CHANGE IN WEATHER AHEAD!
As you can see from the forecast below, the weather is changing. Can we ask our families to look now to ensure your child’s winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves are all named? On frosty mornings, we will always grit a pathway across the playground but may not have time to grit the whole playground by 8.35am. Always use any gritted pathways please, and we would discourage scooters and bikes on those days.
2. IMPORTANT: PLEASE LOG IN TO ARBOR THIS WEEK
Well done to all the families who have already logged in to Arbor — thank you! We still have a number of families who haven’t yet activated their account, and your child’s school report will be sent through Arbor next month, so it’s really important that everyone is set up.
What you need to do (it takes under 2 minutes):
1. Go to the Parent Portal: https://login.arbor.sc/?school=
2. Use the email address registered with us at Glebe
3. Click ‘Forgot Password’ to set your password and log in.
4. Once logged in, please download the Arbor App (App Store or Google Play).
If you need support, our office team are happy to help. Thank you for ensuring you don’t miss your child’s report or future school information.
3. CHRISTMAS JUMPER DONATIONS
By the school office, we will have a large box for families to donate Christmas jumpers which may now be too small for your child. We will sort and refresh them and then offer them to Glebe families looking for a new Christmas jumper. This means less lovely clothes go into landfill and we work together as a community. Please bring your donations in FROM MONDAY. Our Christmas Jumper Day is the same day as our Christmas Fair, THURSDAY 11TH DECEMBER!

LUCY "The Space” Family Support Idea for the Week:
The greatest gift of all: playing with you!
All children need to play. It is their way of learning skills and helps them to release their emotions. Regularly playing with your child will help you to feel closer. It will also encourage them to cooperate more and you will feel more energised!
How can parents help?
I know most of you might feel exhausted at the end of the day, especially with how busy our lives can be. However, all you need is 10 mins of play, which will help both you and your child to let out some of the stress accumulated from your day. Ideally, this is non-screen-based play that encourages eye contact and connection. Can you try any of these at some point in your day?
- If your child is feeling over-excited and needs to let off some energy, how about taking him to a quiet, safe space and letting him spin around while you spot him?
- If she is having difficulty falling asleep at night, you could say goodnight to each part of her body.
- If he needs some help calming down, perhaps you could blow bubbles together and see how long you can keep them in the air before popping.
- Play football together by blowing a cotton ball around through straws.
- If she is finding a situation difficult, use stuffed animals to act it out.
- Finally, I always suggest following your child’s lead and joining them in their favourite game: let them teach you how to play!
Sometimes we could all do with someone to talk to.
If you would like to meet Lucy Cohen for a confidential and non-judgemental chat about you, your child, or any other worries, they are available on Tuesdays from 9-10am.
