The Sunday PING 10th May 2026
Dear Glebe Families,
I was chuffed to attend Buckingham Palace on Friday! The Department for Education had recognised my contributions to education and I had an opportunity to go to the palace, meet the Prince & Princess of Wales and meet lots of people from different public facing departments. It was an absolute honour.
I did not come from a privileged background in life, and many of you know I started as a child at Priestmead, in Kenton. For me working in education and the amazing staff, governors, parents/carers and children has always been my inspiration, and my driver for me to be the best I can be for the communities I serve.
I feel blessed to work with amazing staff and leaders at Glebe and across Priestmead and Welldon, and collectively proud of the difference we make together to all our children.
I want our Glebe children to also aspire to be the best they can be. Like me, they are starting their journeys in Kenton, and I believe every one of them can go on to be our positive world changers #gloriousglebe

FIVE REMINDERS FOR THE WEEK AHEAD:
1. Y6 SATS WEEK
This week, our children in Y6 have their SATS tests. These tests assess the school and how they have improved your child’s knowledge since they started Key Stage 2 when they were in Y3. Our Y6 team have worked hard to teach new knowledge, revise learned knowledge, and fill in gaps in knowledge as Y6 are one of the last cohorts who had a disrupted schooling pathway through the pandemic. We think they are brilliant – they have the potential to do so, so well and we wish them all the best.
Here is a little guide from the DFE:

2. SATURDAY 11TH JULY SUMMER FESTIVAL – SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY!
Please do complete the form for the new experiences at our Summer Festival on Saturday 11th July. We also need volunteers on the day – please let us know by emailing office@glebeschool.org and we will pass on your details. We need help Friday 10th July after school to set up, and Saturday 11th July between 9am to 5pm.
With over 1000 adults in our community, everyone doing a little (even just an hour), means we can do so much more for each other. Thank you in advance!
3. SCHOOL PARKING – CLEAR ZIG ZAGS
Harrow Council are aware of the issues with a minority of adults parking illegally and breaking the law. As a community, I want Glebe to shine as a community who all put children’s safety first. Please, do not park illegally. It can’t be any clearer!!!

LUCY "The Space” Family Support Idea for the Week:
📚 Supporting Your Child with Exam Stress
Exams, tests and assessments can be a challenging and stressful time for many children and young people. Feeling some pressure is normal, but when stress becomes overwhelming, it can affect sleep, concentration, and overall wellbeing. As parents and carers, your support and understanding can make a big difference.
🧠 How to Recognise Exam Stress
Common signs your child might be struggling with stress include:
- Difficulty sleeping or changes in appetite
- Irritability, mood swings, or withdrawal
- Feeling overwhelmed or anxious
- Difficulty focusing or completing work
- Complaints of headaches or stomach aches
❤️ How Parents and Carers Can Help
- Create a calm study environment
Help your child organise a quiet, clutter-free space for revision with minimal distractions. - Encourage regular breaks and physical activity
Short breaks and exercise help reduce stress and improve concentration. - Promote healthy sleep habits
Encourage consistent bedtimes and limit screen time before sleep. - Support a balanced routine
Encourage a balance of study, relaxation, social time, and hobbies. - Be positive and encouraging
Praise effort rather than just results. Let your child know their worth isn’t defined by exam grades. - Talk openly about feelings
Let your child share their worries and listen without judgement. Sometimes just knowing someone understands helps hugely. - Help with planning
Support your child to break revision into manageable chunks and create a realistic timetable.
Sometimes we could all do with someone to talk to.
If you would like to meet Lucy Cohen for a confidential and non-judgemental chat about you, your child, or any other worries, they are available on Tuesdays from 9-10am.
You can call/text 07469705850 or email lucy@schoolscounsellingpartnership.co.uk
