The Summer Holidays 2024 ahead!

Dear Glebe Families,

A final Sunday PING for a few weeks!

On behalf of the staff, I wanted to thank your generosity and kindness with the cards and gifts presented to staff over the last week.  It is very much appreciated and valued.

Our Y6s had a great send off too and we wish them all well for secondary school! A reminder to them they have their DISCO on MONDAY at 5.30pm at Glebe!

FIVE REMINDERS FOR NEXT TERM:

1. UNIFORM

Come September, we refresh high expectations for our school uniform.  Attached is a photo guide and it is also on our website: https://www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/Parents/School-Uniform/

2. AUTUMN TERM CLUBS: MAGNA will continue their breakfast and after school club (https://magna.childcare-online-booking.co.uk/ ). We listened to your feedback and will have more free clubs for your children in Autumn Term. This means the list will not be available until the first week, with clubs aiming to start from 16th September.  More in the new term.

3. SUMMER WORKS: We are doing various bits of work over the summer in our Glebe building. Reception rooms are being built, some new decoration, upgrading out IT infrastructure and more.  If you live locally and see vans and contractors around, that is what they are doing!  I will send photo updates later in August!

4. TERM DATES: A reminder our 2024-25 term dates are here: https://www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/Parents/School-Day-and-Term-Dates/

New changes to the law on school attendance come in from 19th August 2024 regarding leave in term-time. Under the new rules, all schools will be expected to look at issuing fines for unauthorised absences. Fines will be £80 if paid within 21 days of being issued and then doubled to £160 if they are paid between 21 and 28 days. You can only receive two of the fines in a three-year period and then the issue may be escalated to a parenting order or prosecution. Fines that may then be issued after prosecution can rise to £2500.

5. CONTACT: Our office closes from Wednesday until 2nd September. If there is something urgent relating to your child, use safeguarding@glebe.harrow.sch.uk which will be checked daily. Note this is for urgent concerns.

Holiday ahead weather:

Still a mixed bag but there is hope for August!

On the horizon...

* Remember school restarts on Wednesday 4th September 2024 for Y1-Y6 children.  New Nursery and New Reception children have different start dates.

As always, if you have any concerns or queries, use our communication guide so we can respond as soon as possible to: https://www.glebe.harrow.sch.uk/Parents/Communication/

Enjoy your holidays and see you in September!
